CaseViaUs is a communication platform that helps law firms manage consultations, documents, chat, and case progress—all in one place.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information processed by CaseViaUs when you:

  • Visit our websites, mobile apps, or web apps (collectively, the "Services")
  • Create an account as a Client or Lawyer
  • Engage with features like booking, payments, messaging, and document exchange

Note: This Policy does not cover how independent lawyers or law firms handle your data outside of our Services.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

Account & Profile: name, email, phone number, password or SSO identifiers, role (Client/Lawyer), bar number and firm details (for Lawyers), profile photos, bios, practice areas
Bookings & Operations: availability/time slots, consultation details, calendar preferences, case metadata
Content: chat messages, attachments, files, documents, notes, feedback, and support inquiries
Payments: payment method tokens, billing info, transaction details (card data is processed by our payment processors; we don't store full card numbers)
Marketing Preferences: opt-ins, communication settings

B. Collected Automatically

Device & Usage: IP address, device type, OS, browser/app version, app instance IDs, crash logs, performance metrics, referral URLs, pages/screens viewed, and feature usage
Cookies/SDKs: to keep you signed in, remember preferences, analyze traffic, and personalize content

C. From Third Parties

Identity & Fraud Signals: from authentication providers and payment processors
App Stores: receipt/entitlement data for in-app subscriptions (Apple/Google)
Professional Verification: public bar records or verification vendors (for Lawyer onboarding)

  • Service Providers / Sub-processors: Support hosting, storage, analytics, messaging, payments, crash reporting, email delivery, and customer support—bound by confidentiality and data protection terms
  • Lawyers / Clients: To fulfill a booking or active matter (e.g., names, booking details, chat/document content you choose to share)
  • Compliance & Safety: Law enforcement or regulators where required by law, to protect rights, users, the public, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud/security issues
  • Corporate Transactions: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, financings, or asset sales, subject to appropriate safeguards

4. Payments & Subscriptions

  • Stripe (web/Android): We share billing email, amount, and non-sensitive metadata. Card data is handled by Stripe.
  • Apple/Google (iOS/Android): We process store receipts to verify/restore in-app subscriptions.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information as necessary to provide Services, comply with legal/tax/accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion.

8. International Data Transfers

We may process and store data in the United States and other countries. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

10. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and understand feature usage. You can control cookies through browser settings and mobile OS permissions.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.

12. Messaging, Files & Confidentiality

We provide secure channels for communication and document exchange. You control what you share. CaseViaUs is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Lawyer-client confidentiality is governed by your agreements with your Lawyer.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to practices, technologies, or legal requirements. We'll post updates with a new "Effective date" and notify you where required.
